Wybrane problemy transportu miejskiego i podmiejskiego

Obecnie państwo wykorzystuje usługi transportowe do rozwiązywania społecznych i regionalnych problemów związanych z przemieszczaniem ludzi i towarów.

The chosen problems of urban and suburban transportation

Nowadays state uses transportation services to solve society and regional problems connected with people and goods translocation. Transport demands represent important part of life style and role of passenger transport in communication that should satisfy the arisen needs of human beings. One of the basic human needs is for sure a need of translocation and that is why public transport costs are so important. This article presents the chosen problems of costs 'structure of passenger transport in Slovakia during last years. The most important factors influencing on urban and suburban transport system quality are also described.

Stochastic model of truck engine wear with regard to discontinuity of operation

The influence of operational factors on the wear process of the truck engine parts was analysed. Discontinuity of engine operation was found to be a crucial factor. Contribution of start-ups, following breaks in operation in total wear of the engine is significant and in case of investigated engine amounts 40%. As wear of engine parts accompanying a single start-up strongly depends on the temperature, cold start-ups (usually first in the morning) are of particular importance. Taking above into consideration the authors suggest modelling the course of wear as a stochastic process with the following constituents: - transmission process with linear realization representing average value of wear, - stationary process with periodical realization representing deviations of wear intensity in particular seasons accompanying cold start-ups, - stationary process of statistic fluctuations with random time realizations, representing instantaneous deviations of wear in relation to average values. Mathematical model was illustrated with some empirical results.

Improved method of processing the output parameters of the diesel locomotive engine for more efficient maintenance

Modernization of aged rolling stock is one of the possibilities to adapt it to the current requirements for better environmental friendliness and economy of railway transport. However, some vehicle upgrades lead to new failures that were not observed in the original vehicles. The cause is the so-called “hybrid design”, built on a combination of original and selected new components. The aim of the work was to improve the situation with frequent failures and unavailability that occur on the modernized locomotive where a new diesel engine and new electronic control system was installed. Within the work, a simplified methodology for evaluating the outputs of diagnostic equipment was developped based on and applied to specific locomotive type and its diesel engine. The methodology resulted in a significant reduction of the time for assessing the condition of the vehicle’s diesel engine and more effective maintenance. The paper also presents other possibilities in the analysis of big data in the maintenance of rolling stock e.g. using fuzzy logic.
