Comparative Research of New Designs of Spark Plugs

Comparative Research of New Designs of Spark Plugs

The paper presents chosen results of spark plugs comparative research which was done according to a newly elaborated procedure. The research project covered analysis of ignition feasibility under extreme conditions and ability to burn out carbon and combustion chamber deposits from the insulator. Three types of spark plugs were examined: standard spark plug with single ground electrode, U-super with groove in a ground electrode and special design with modified shape of an insulator. Influence of proposed design modifications on working parameters was established on the grounds of the research.
